Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, expressed uncertainty about teenage winger Lamine Yamal’s fitness for the La Liga leaders’ upcoming match against Real Sociedad on Sunday.
Flick added that playmaker Dani Olmo is likely to be available despite feeling unwell overnight. At the same time, defender Pau Cubarsi is expected to play, despite sustaining a facial cut in Barcelona’s recent Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade.
“Pau trained with us throughout the session, so I believe he’ll be ready,” Flick reported.
“Lamine did some specific strength training indoors. He’s had a busy few weeks, so we’re being cautious. We’ll assess his condition tomorrow.”
“Dani felt uncomfortable last night but is feeling better this morning, so with a bit of medical support, I think he’ll be ready for tomorrow,” Flick concluded.
Barcelona entered the weekend with a nine-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid.
