The program is open to all willing applicants with a bachelor or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, (Applied) Physics, Materials Sciences or equivalent. - One Excellence Scholarship on this level, a total of 5000 Euro will be given to the best and most performing student, at the beginning of the the second year of the MSc of their program.

To qualify for VUB Scholarship, candidate must fulfill meet all of the criterias required of them by the VUB scholarship committee and those criterias are listed below:

- Required Languages: English Language is a prerequisite for international students:
- A TOEFL-TEST, taken was done not later than the past two years, showing a score of 570 minimum (paper-based) or 87 (internet-based)
- An original “test report from” (TRF) from IELTS, officially issued within two years and not more than two years and must attain a minimum score of 6.0
- Cambridge-ESOL: First certificate in English (FCE)
- Holders of a diploma of high school or higher education by a recognized institution in the Flemish Community can be permitted to proceed with their applications without submitting a proof of language proficiency.
- Some student can be exempted from language test, if they have successfully completed a minimum of 1 year (60 credits), of secondary or high school education, where the mode of instruction was English (an official certificate must be submitted to back your claims).
- Note: you can submit your application and get started with the scholarship program, if your proof of English proficiency or APS certificate is not ready before the stipulated deadline, you can thereby submit the certificate when you get them and then proceed with your academic journey.
